Karen is working on a new project, Revisions, a multiple-channel video installation featuring the dancer, Kelly Keenan, as well as
a commissioned score composed by Mirko Sablich.
Revisions is a thematic progression of Karen's previous research regarding the motif of the working body, gestured labour as choreography, and the body as tool. With Dmitri Shostakovich’s ballet The Bolt [1931] as a point of departure, the work aims to musically, choreographically and visually conceive of the body navigating between states of control and abandon.
Images from the work in progress will be posted on Karen's blog. |
